12 Month Grade 7 Research Assistant Post

The Computing Laboratory has a vacancy for a Research Assistant to work on the EU funded research project Foundational Structures for Quantum Information and Communication (QICS) which started on 1st January 2007 and runs until the 31st December 2009.

The successful candidate will join a team working under the joint supervision of Prof Samson Abramsky and Dr Bob Coecke on high-level methods for topological quantum computing and, more generally, on categorical quantum axiomatics.He/she will also assist in the organisation of QICS events and on QICS reporting.

The post, which is a fixed term appointment of 12 months, has a salary on the University grade 7 scale at £27,466 p.a.; includes membership of USS; has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods), and is available from 1st September 2008.
