Machine Learning For Natural Language Dialogue Processing
The Computing Laboratory has a vacancy for a postdoctoral research assistant to work in the area of machine learning for natural language dialogue processing. The post is funded by the European Union as part of the FP6 Integrated Project COMPANIONS: Intelligent, Persistent, PersonalisedMultimodal Interfaces to the Internet, and is available immediately ending in October 2010.
Applicants should have, or expect shortly to obtain, a PhD in computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, or some other relevant discipline, and should have experience of one or more of the following: machine learning methods in language processing; knowledge representation and reasoning, particularly using Bayesian Networks and related formalisms; dialogue modelling for spoken language systems. Applicants should be experienced programmers.The post will require occasional travel to other partner sites within the EU. The successful applicant will join a rapidly growing computational linguistics group (
