Financial Operations Controller

The Computing Laboratory has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced person to run the financial operations of the department under the general management of the Administrator.

 The Department holds approximately ninety research contracts plus thirty other accounts and has a turnover in excess of £6m per annum. The post involves working with Oracle Financials and ADI reporting package as well as familiarity with various PC software such as Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word), email, web-browsers and Lotus Approach database management. Training in the use of all the software packages will be available.

Applicants should have a proven record in financial accounting methods and ideally be familiar with the University finance structure and guidelines. The post, which is available immediately is on the University Grade 06 scale, currently £23,692 to £28,289 p.a. with a discretionary range to £30,913. The package includes thirty eight days per year annual leave (inclusive of bank-holiday and closed periods), a final salary pension scheme, and assistance with the purchase of bus passes.
