Selected Professional Activities
Teaching
I give the lecture course on Lambda
Calculus and Types, and this year also on Discrete Mathematics.
In college I teach various computer science courses (usually the more mathematical ones),
probability and statistics, and sometimes some pure maths.
Other Interests
I am a musician, specifically a percussionist and a baritone. I still play
percussion in the University Orchestras in Oxford.
I am also involved in the administration of the Oxford University
orchestras. Depending on how industrious they have been recently, you
might find up-to-date information on the
Oxford University Music Society web site.
Trivia
My surname is properly pronounced "car".
